Jon and I had gotten engaged and immediately started planning our dream wedding. When looking for what I wanted to have for flowers I was really on the fence. When I found fifty flowers website I was thrilled! Who knew you could save so much money and do your own flowers.
As the wedding grew closer the only thing I was truly worried about was the flowers. It did turn out alright even though Hurricane Irma caused my flowers run behind schedule for delivery which pushed the timeline back for everything. When the flowers arrived it took me longer than expected to prep them and rehydrate them before I could arrange them. With the help of my mother, sister and maid of honor we created all of the arrangements and boutonnieres after the rehearsal dinner, the day before the wedding. When we finally finished the arrangements I was so relieved and thankful that the delivery made it in the first place.
Our wedding day began with rushing and decorating the church before the sun was even up– The people doing my hair and makeup were ready and waiting at my parents' house where we were getting ready. It was a smooth process. It took me longer than anticipated to get ready which, I will never be allowed to forget, made me late to my own wedding.
The ceremony was perfect, other than the bride running late, and everyone commented on how original and great the officiant was. I had tunnel vision throughout the entire ceremony and was excited to spend the rest of my life with my soul mate.
Reception = perfect. Everything went off without a hitch, but we did forget to cut our cake! I think I got to sit down for 15 minutes which included eating what little dinner I ate and hearing the speeches. I was mingling, dancing, and at the bar the rest of the time. Oh, by the way - photo booth was a HUGE hit. If anyone can fit it in their budget, it's a great way to get guests to connect with each other. Both families were taking pictures with one another and mingling and the tone was so laid back and casual and fun. All in all, with being my own wedding planner and florist our wedding went fantastic and we managed to stay under budget.
